In 2016, La Lumiere School initiated the construction of a new tennis complex with the completion of eight new courts. This project was
made possible through the generosity of two La Lumiere families. The combination of a lead gift by David and Bridget ’88 Van Eekeren and
a commitment by Bill and Renee Wolf to direct funds from the Silver Lake Duathlon to La Lumiere School made the dream of a new tennis
complex become a reality.
The Silver Lake Duathlon is produced and underwritten by Renee and Bill Wolf and supported by other racing enthusiasts. For almost a decade, the duathlon has generated charitable support for a variety of nonprofit organizations in our area. La Lumiere is honored to have been
chosen as the beneficiary of this fun event.
The duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a three-mile trail run, a 12-mile road cycling course, and another three-mile trail
run. There is also a three-mile trail Fun Run option that is offered alongside the duathlon. This year’s race is slated for Sunday, May
21, and we are seeking underwriters and volunteers to ensure the event is a success.
The Silver Lake Duathlon has generated more than $43,000 to support the Tennis Complex project. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift
to the duathlon this year. The Tennis Complex is a wonderful addition to our campus and will be enjoyed by current and future La Lumiere
