The La Lumiere experience weaves together principles of character, scholarship, and faith. Whether in the classroom, on the playing field, or in the community, students’ days are filled with activities that are designed to structure their time; making the most of their high school experience. In addition to academics, La Lumiere offers athletics, co-curricular activities, and community service opportunities that play an important role in each student’s day-to-day life at the School.
We are a community of students, faculty, staff, and families who are connected by a shared value system, and focused on the preparation of young men and women for the responsibilities and opportunities of adulthood.
On our 190-acre wooded campus, students can take advantage of athletic facilities, open fields, and computer lab. At the Sullivan Student Activity Center, students can relax, play games, and get a snack from the school store.
Weekly chapel programs help to develop awareness of current events and the needs of others. Recent programs have included a celebration of the life of founding headmaster, James Moore, and a talk with Emmy award-winning director Paris Barclay, a 1974 graduate.
Our Science Olympiad team, innovative Drama Program, and award-winning Art Department are just a few of the offerings that set La Lumiere apart from other independent schools.
