La Lumiere School is situated on a 144 acre former country estate with a spring-fed lake, one hour east of Chicago, Illinois, 30 minutes west of South Bend, Indiana, and 8 miles from both La Porte, Indiana and New Buffalo, Michigan

Home to over 200 students, half boarding and half day students, our campus is like no other in community, warmth and character.

Moore House, our main dining and meeting hall, is named for our founding headmaster, James R. Moore, and is reminiscent of a hunting lodge from the early 1900s.

Our classrooms, library and entire academic complex are wireless, and provide an optimal learning environment.

With three athletic playing fields, two gymnasiums, high and low challenge courses, a natural lake and nearly five miles of wooded trails, La Lumiere School’s setting is not only conducive to academic pursuits, but also for all types of sports and recreational activities. From canoeing, kayaking and running to team sports such as soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, tennis, volleyball and basketball, the campus has something at every turn.

Residential students live in newly renovated dormitories that are more like homes. A dorm parent, also a faculty member, lives in each residence.
