Fine Arts
Our award-winning Arts program has been lead with great passion and mastery by Linda Weigel for 20 years. Students learn and explore art in all its media, under the careful tutelage of Mrs. Weigel. Mrs. Weigel brings a lifetime of artistic talent, love, and expertise to the La Lumiere classroom, inspiring and guiding students. Students' work has been part of exhibitions across the area, winning awards. This year, in addition to several area art exhibitions and juried competitions, including the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City and the Brauer Museum in Valparaiso, students will also participate in the US Congressional Art High School Art Competition.

Drama
Our students are exposed to drama through work on every aspect of the production from writing to set design, and from costumes and lighting to acting in the performance. La Lumiere is fortunate to have the talents of Donna Blue Lachman, an actress with 25 years of experience as a playwright and director in the New York and Chicago theatre communities. An Emmy-award winner, Ms. Lachman's teaching credits include the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.

Music
Our music department is new and growing. We offer classes that fulfill the fine arts requirement, though music curriculum and instruction can be individualized to suit each student's needs. Students are encouraged and supported to pursue individual opportunities for growth in music such as lessons outside of school, area groups, and competitions. For special school events small ensembles perform. Aside from the curriculum, Wednesday activities and special activities, including an annual talent show, give opportunities for the student who isn't musical, but wants to develop their interest.
