The Admissions Process

The Admissions Process

Dear Prospective Families,

I’m Stephanie Hill, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to the admissions process at La Lumiere School. Choosing the right school is an important decision, and we are here to guide and support you every step of the way.

At La Lumiere, we believe in fostering not just academic excellence but also personal growth, character development, and a sense of community. Our vibrant campus, dedicated faculty, and unique programs are designed to challenge and inspire students, preparing them for success in all areas of life.

Our admissions process is as personal as the experience you’ll have as a student here. We take the time to get to know each applicant and their family, ensuring that La Lumiere is the right fit for your educational journey. We understand that the process can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make it as smooth and informative as possible.

We look forward to getting to know you and your family, and we’re excited to see how you might contribute to and grow with our school.

Warmly,

Stephanie

La Lumiere also accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO)

Step 2: Schedule A Shadow Day

During their personalized shadow day, applicants spend a full day with a current student, experiencing firsthand what boarding school life is like as a Laker — from academics to residential life. Each applicant also meets individually with our Admissions Team to discuss their college preparatory goals, and parents are welcome to schedule a personal conversation at drop-off or pick-up. Parent campus tours are also available for families exploring top boarding schools in Indiana.

International Student Applicants

As one of the leading boarding schools for international students, La Lumiere welcomes applicants from around the world. If you are applying as an international student, please upload a copy of your passport to the application portal in addition to the items above, and reach out to admissions@lalumiere.org to schedule your virtual interview.

All international students studying in the United States are required to have a Form I-20, ‘Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,’ in order to travel to the U.S. and begin their studies at our boarding school. Our admissions team is here to guide international families through every step of this process. Once a student is accepted and La Lumiere receives a signed enrollment contract and deposit, our office issues the Form I-20.

Once a student has their documents, they will need to schedule an appointment with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to obtain a student visa. La Lumiere is committed to supporting international students throughout each stage of this process.

It is the policy of La Lumiere School not to discriminate in violation of the law on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, gender identity and expression, national origin, ancestry, or physical or mental disability which are unrelated to the ability to work or enjoy the benefits of the school’s programs, facilities, or services. All persons are encouraged to apply.
