Tuition and Value
Your Investment
A La Lumiere education is a meaningful investment in your child’s holistic formation — preparing them for college and beyond with a solid foundation in character, scholarship, and faith. We understand that choosing a top college preparatory boarding school is both a personal and financial decision, and we’re committed to making a La Lumiere education as accessible as possible through need-based financial aid and personalized tuition assistance guidance. Families who invest in this experience see a lifelong advantage: in a recent ISACS community survey, 99% of our alumni agreed their La Lumiere education was valuable.

Financial Assistance
We don’t want cost alone to stand between your child and a transformative La Lumiere education. Our admissions and financial aid team works closely with qualified families to help close the gap between what they can afford and the full cost of attendance, because we believe a college preparatory education should be within reach for talented students from a range of financial backgrounds.

Applying for Financial Aid
La Lumiere’s Financial Aid program is designed to make education possible for all families, based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. La Lumiere is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application, which includes assets, income, expenses and debts.
To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete and the Clarity Application is mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit.
The deadline for completing the financial aid application, including relevant supplemental documents is January 10th, 2026 for new and returning families.
If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or (206) 210-3752, in both English and Spanish.
To be considered for financial aid, you must meet these deadlines:
- October 1, 2026: Clarity Application opens.
- January 10, 2027: New & Returning Family Deadline.
Financial Assistance FAQs
The Financial Aid Applications is due on January 10, 2026. Applications submitted after this date will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Returning families will receive their financial aid award by late February. New families will receive their financial aid award by early March and on a rolling basis after that date.
Once Clarity and La Lumiere receive your financial aid application, they will use a standard calculation to make an assessment called the Family Tuition Contribution. The Family Tuition Contribution is an estimated dollar amount calculated by Clarity. The Financial Aid Committee uses this amount as a starting point from which to determine a financial aid award.
Any special circumstances should be written in the notes section of the Clarity application.
You must reapply every year for financial aid, and your award will be adjusted based on changes in your family’s financial situation.
While La Lumiere tries to meet the demonstrated financial need of newly admitted students, it is possible to be admitted to La Lu but not awarded financial aid. Such students are offered a place on the financial aid waiting list. We offer awards to applicants from the financial aid waiting list if additional funds become available. It is not unusual for the financial aid waiting list to be active between March and August.
Each parent must complete a financial aid application.
