How to Live La Lu
"Living La Lu is owning your high school experience. Cheer at basketball games. Plan advisory outings. Perform at Fine Arts Friday."
That's advice on how to "live La Lu" from Haley Harkness (pictured center), a rising senior, Admissions Prefect, and winner of the Traute and Miller Bransfield Award – among others – this year at Convocation. This is the highest award that La Lumiere School bestows on an underclassman, given to the junior student who best portrays the La Lumiere ideal.
It's clear that Haley's portrayal of this ideal comes from her clear sense of presence and gratitude on campus. "La Lumiere gives us myriad opportunities to grow as people, and it's our job to take advantage of them," she says. "This type of ownership is what makes our community special."
