At La Lumiere School, education is about more than academics. It’s about preparing young individuals to lead with character, curiosity, and confidence. In today’s rapidly changing world, Indiana needs schools that develop not only strong students, but also responsible citizens and future leaders. Prep schools like La Lumiere play a vital role in shaping that future.
Building Leadership Through Small Class Sizes
One of the hallmarks of a prep school education is individualized attention. At La Lumiere, small class sizes allow teachers to mentor students closely, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-confidence. This personal approach equips students to take initiative and lead in both academic and extracurricular settings.
A Community That Encourages Responsibility
Prep schools emphasize character development alongside academics. At La Lumiere, students are held to high standards of integrity, respect, and accountability. By living and learning in a close-knit community, they develop strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility that prepares them to lead in college, careers, and civic life.
Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
True leadership isn’t learned from textbooks alone. Indiana prep schools like La Lumiere provide rich opportunities through athletics, arts, service projects, and leadership programs. Whether captaining a sports team, performing on stage, or leading a service initiative, students gain real-world experience in teamwork and decision-making.
Preparing Students for College and Beyond
College readiness is central to the prep school mission, but at La Lumiere, preparation goes deeper. Rigorous academics, paired with mentorship and leadership opportunities, ensure that graduates are not only prepared for higher education but also ready to adapt, innovate, and lead in an evolving world.
Expanding Access Through the Indiana Choice Scholarship
Indiana families now have more opportunities to access a prep school education thanks to the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program. This statewide initiative helps eligible K–12 students offset tuition costs at participating schools like La Lumiere, making it possible for more families to choose an education that emphasizes both academic excellence and character development.
Why Prep Schools Matter in Indiana
Indiana families increasingly recognize the value of an education that emphasizes both excellence and character. Prep schools like La Lumiere nurture well-rounded students who are equipped to make a difference locally, nationally, and globally. By investing in their future now, we help secure a stronger, more thoughtful generation of Hoosier leaders.
