What is the graduation requirement?

● 45 hours for incoming freshmen and sophomores
● 35 hours for transfer juniors
● 15 hours for transfer seniors

How do I submit my hours?

Visit https://www.lalumiere.org/service and fill out the form.

How do I view my hours?

Total documented hours are posted on Jupiter in your class called Community Service. Hours are updated every two weeks.

How do I obtain service hours?

Students may seek out their own service opportunities or they may take advantage of a variety offered through La Lumiere.

How do I find service opportunities that La Lumiere offers?

  1. Opportunities for service are listed on the weekly calendar and on the service board in the World Language hallway outside room 8.

  2. Announcements are made at the morning meeting frequently.

  3. The following are offered on Wednesdays on a semester basis: Golden Living Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home, Reading Buddies at Springfield Elementary, and Michiana Humane Society.

  4. School Buddies of Big Brothers Big Sisters of La Porte County is a yearlong commitment on Wednesdays. 

How do I sign up?

Sign-up sheets are posted on the service board outside room 8.
Registering for our Wednesday offerings is done via class registration during Orientation Week.
