La Lumiere Seniors named National Merit Semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program

La Porte, IN – Head of School Dr. Andrew Hoyt, of La Lumiere School, announced today that Seniors Liliana Sirko and Chet Morariu have been named Semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.

About 16,000 Semifinalists throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition.

“We are proud of Liliana and Chet for earning this distinction and congratulate them both on this impressive accomplishment,” said Dr. Hoyt, “Scholars like Liliana and Chet give me great hope and excitement for the future, and we commend them for their exceptional performance in and out of the classroom.”
