La Lumiere senior Hugo Arias was recently named a Chick Evans Scholarship awardee. Arias is the sixth Evans Scholar at La Lumiere in the last six years. The Evans Scholars Program provides full tuition and housing scholarships for high-achieving and deserving caddies. In order to be eligible to apply, students must demonstrate an excellent academic record in addition to a strong record as a caddie.

The Rising Stars of Indiana is designed to “honor high school juniors for their academic achievement.” This achievement is a sign of outstanding scholars in their junior year, which can increase visibility and scholarship opportunities in their future.

Read MoreLa Lumiere senior Lauren Jaracz was selected as one of the eleven La Porte County finalists for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship by the Unity Foundation of La Porte County. This prestigious scholarship covers tuition for a baccalaureate degree at any accredited public or private university or college in Indiana and an additional $900 book stipend annually. Two of the eleven finalists will be selected for the scholarship.
