Guatemala | Spring Break
February 26 – March 6, 2019
Students and faculty will work with a local priest from Santa Apolonia, a small village located in Chimaltenango, Guatemala 89.2 km from the Guatemala City. We will help restore their greenhouse and different types of vegetables and flowers which they will later sell at the market in support of community projects. In addition, the group will visit an organization called Los Patojos in Antigua, which provides educational resources for homeless youth, and spend time with them creating crafts, cooking, and doing other activities. The students will spend some time touring and exploring Guatemalan culture in different parts of the country in addition to the service component.

Prague | Summer
From historic sites where dissidents were persecuted to Golden Lane where Franz Kafka once lived, Prague offers an incredible backdrop to learn about Central Europe’s turbulent past. Excursions outside the city take students to two UNESCO world heritage sites: Cesky Krumlov, a picturesque village in southern Bohemia; and Kutna Hora, home to the uniquely macabre “bone church.” Other highlights include visits to the Terezin Concentration Camp and Prague’s Jewish Quarter.
