Kasey (Ryan) Leake
Director of Student Life

Kasey graduated from the College of Charleston in 1999 with a B.S. in Mathematics. She received her teaching license from Purdue in 2011. She found her love of teaching by tutoring middle school students in math and substitute teaching. Kasey joined La Lumiere in 2001 as a math teacher. She has taught pre-algebra, algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry, and honors and regular precalculus. Kasey was Chair of the Mathematics department for 10 years before moving into the role as Director of Student Life. Kasey also coaches girls tennis.
As Director of Student Life, Kasey is responsible for all attendance, dress code, and discipline matters.
Kasey attended La Lumiere as a boarder in the early 1990s. She finished her high school career at Marist High School in Atlanta, GA. Kasey was born in Lake Forest, IL and raised in Mettawa, IL.

Marje is a clinical social worker and educator with over 25 years of experience in independent schools. After serving in four boarding and day schools as a counselor, administrator, teacher, and dorm parent on the East Coast, Marje headed back to the Midwest to be near family and focus on her consulting work. In 1998, realizing the emotional lives of her students were changing due to the rapidly growing field of technology, Marje founded eKids Consulting, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to understanding electronic technology and its impact on the social and emotional health of students. After working with over 75 schools nationwide and authoring three books on technology safety, Marje and her son joined the La Lumiere community in 2015. Marje was born and raised in the Chicago area and has a B.A. in English from Wittenberg University and an M.S.W. from Loyola University in Chicago.
