La Lumiere Players Perform “The Conference of the Birds”

The La Lu Players, our Drama program at La Lumiere School, presented their 2020 Winter Performance of Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carrière's “The Conference of the Birds” on February 18th and 19th on the campus of La Lumiere School in the Fine Arts Building.

“With this year’s production, we wanted the Students to experience a full-on theatrical production, from costume and set and lighting design to choreography to, of course, acting. ‘The Conference of the Birds’ was the right play to choose for such an endeavor and the students performed amazingly, especially considering ‘The Conference of the Birds’ is not the most direct and straightforward play to comprehend. The students really raised the bar for future productions - we were, we are incredibly happy and proud of them,” Matt Benedict, the Drama Director at La Lumiere, said.

The play itself is an adaption of a 12th-Century Sufi poem written by Farid ud-Din Attar.
