La Lu Palooza—An Unprecedented Night!

What an absolutely unbelievable evening La Lu Palooza was! The odds seemed stacked against us as rain came down in sheets and lightning crashed throughout the region in the run-up to our big event. But as we've been saying all along at this school in the woods, "we can do hard things!"  

Braving the elements paid off, the skies parted, and a rainbow even appeared as folks sipped signature cocktails and found their way to their seats. What happened next will be remembered for decades. 

Thanks to all of you who were able to be a part of it, we netted—not gross revenue, we're talking about what we cleared—over 3.6 million dollars, the majority of which will be invested in the permanently endowed Linnen Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students requiring financial assistance. 

Between an unprecedented 4:1 match in honor of the late Mary Lou Linnen, two dynamo event chairs in Britt Whitfield and Jacqueline Kronk, and a tent full of fearless revelers, Saturday turned out to be, by many measures, the biggest night in our school’s history—not to mention a heck of a party. 

Such staggering generosity ensures that we will keep helping students form character, cultivate scholarship, and explore faith for generations to come.
