La Lumiere Holds Freshmen Experience for the Class of 2025

Our newest Lakers spent time on campus in the middle of June for their Freshmen Experience. This annual, week-long event highlighted the La Lumiere experience and jump-started the relationships that make our community so special. The freshmen class is ready to hit the ground running in August!

Over the course of the week, the students participated in math and English classes. This allowed each student to gain a sense of our unique learning environment. They also took World Languages placement tests, which ensure they are in the right Spanish or French class once the fall semester begins.  

The Class of 2025 also was able to spend time together outside of the classroom. The students explored campus, played Spike Ball (rain or shine!), and went on a scavenger hunt. By the end of the week, they were pros at finding the quickest path from the dorms to the Fine Arts Building and knew their way around the Moore House. There was also time to sample the athletic offerings each afternoon and compete in a mini-Heads’ Cup tournament to earn the coveted Freshmen Experience trophy. 

Both boarding and day students spent the week in the dorms, which offered a unique insight that our day students might not otherwise have during their time at La Lumiere. A few of our upperclassmen joined them in the dorms to share study skills and strategies to help them succeed next year.
