Financial Aid Overview for the 2022-2023 Academic Year

Each academic year, La Lumiere provides financial assistance to over one-third of our students. Need-based financial aid is based on each family’s financial profile. Additionally, there are merit-based scholarships available to all La Lumiere students.

"Many families assume they will not qualify for any financial assistance and are often pleasantly surprised that not only do they qualify, but receive a significant amount of support,” Director of Admissions Charlie Mugford said. To determine these need-based financial aid awards, our school uses a third-party verification company, FACTS, which verifies the eligibility of our families. Once FACTS and our Financial Aid Committee receive the completed application, FACTS will use a standard calculation to make an assessment called the Family Tuition Contribution. Our Financial Aid Committee uses this amount as an important data point to determine each individual family's financial aid award. Prospective families can learn more about tuition and financial aid at La Lumiere here. For our international student families, instead of the FACTS application, we ask that they complete the International Student Financial Aid Profile and attach all relevant documentation.

Scholarships at La Lumiere range in amount, but are a minimum of $1,000 per academic year. Scholarships are awarded to students whose application and supporting documentation demonstrate their unique commitment to academics, athletics, the arts, citizenship, service, or character. These scholarships are renewable annually. Prospective families can learn more about scholarships at La Lumiere here

Families that receive a financial aid award must reapply for financial aid each school year—this allows for adjustments based on changes to each family’s financial picture.
