This fall, Dr. Francis Yun gave a recital to the La Lumiere community to celebrate the one year anniversary of the acquisition of the school’s grand piano! The theme of the recital was embracing difficulty

“Reflecting on all the challenges we face as a school, as a community, and as a nation, embracing difficulty seems to be the common denominator that unites us all. We continue to persevere, not because things are easy, but because they are hard. This recital embraces difficulty and is my reflection on how we face that difficulty together,” Dr. Yun explained.

The recital was performed in the Fine Arts Building on campus at La Lumiere, but due to safety precautions, there was limited number of seating inside. With the doors of the building wide open, adirondack chairs were pulled up to allow for additional seating. It was an opportunity for our faculty and staff, day and boarding students to enjoy the talents of one of our faculty. Also, the recital served as a reminder that these difficult times are an opportunity to unify as we move forward.
