While it’s impossible to bring big groups together in person, let’s come together in a different way and chip in what we can to continue to form character, cultivate scholarship, and explore faith together at La Lumiere. The plan for in-person learning was announced by Head of School Adam Kronk via an email message to the school’s community this week. He and his leadership team are putting together a comprehensive strategy in conversation with health experts to mitigate as many risks as possible—it will include measures such as outdoor learning, temperature taking, virus/antibody testing, tracing, sanitizing, distancing, and quarantining as necessary.

Read MoreLa Lumiere School held its 53rd commencement ceremony Saturday outside overlooking Sullivan Field at the heart of campus. Seniors and their parents parked cars in a semi circle to form the audience around a stage with a jumbotron behind it. Each graduate of the class of 2020 donned a cap and gown and sat in a chair directly in front of their family’s vehicle. With the sun shining and a gentle breeze blowing off the lake, the open-air, drive-in graduation began.

Jalinous is among the 40 high school seniors throughout Indiana that were selected from a field of 280 student nominees from the state’s public and private accredited schools. First and foremost, the distinction of an Academic All-Star is meant for students who excel in the classroom.

Read MoreLa Lumiere seniors Christian Clark and Julianna Maberry were recently named Chick Evans Scholarship awardees. That brings the total number of Evans Scholars awarded to the school’s seniors to five in the last four years. The Evans Scholars Program provides full tuition and housing scholarships for high-achieving and deserving caddies. In order to be eligible to apply, students must demonstrate an excellent academic record in addition to a strong record as a caddie.
