La Lumiere Hosts Field Day

On May 7th, our entire student body and faculty spent the day outside participating in large-scale field games. This was an opportunity to bring our community together to celebrate the end of the academic year and to honor the usual activities that take place during Orientation Week, which was altered this year due to the ongoing pandemic.

“The inspiration behind this day came from our current and newly appointed Head Prefects, Alex Park ‘21 and Daniel Isaacs ‘22,” Mr. Perney, La Lumiere’s Director of Student Leadership and Activities, said. “They were looking to boost school spirit and have some fun as we competed against one another. This day started in the hearts and minds of our students and they helped make sure that it happened. We are so thankful that we could have this memorable and safe day!”

From games of softball, tug-of-war, and relay races our Lakers found themselves competing against and alongside their classmates. The La Lumiere experience is based on relationship, which has been on full display in recent days as our boarding and day students have been able to come together both on- and off-campus. From Prom to Field Day to Fine Arts Friday to spending time out in front of the Academic Building, we are thankful for the opportunities we have had (and will have) to come together and cap this academic year together!
