La Lumiere hosts first Fall Festival

On a stellar fall day, La Lumiere hosted the first annual Fall Festival down on Sullivan Field. The festival was an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate the success of the semester, and showcase some Halloween costumes, too! The activities during the festival ranged from playing carnival games, riding a mechanical bull, racing on a blow-up obstacle course, and climbing a rock wall.

Judy’s Cressless Rivulet: In Memory of Rick Coppens ‘85

Judy’s Cressless Rivulet, located on the north side of the Lake Road, is an integral part of the fabric of the La Lumiere landscape, and one that needed a helping hand to restore it to its former glory. As part of our larger efforts to promote place-based learning at La Lumiere, a group of four students worked with Brian Tonino ’12 and Mrs. Judy Smith to take the first step in the restoration process over the course of the past two weekends.
